Tayro Wind, an orphaned boy of sixteen, is a mage apprentice of Hylian descent who has left his old home - North Castle's Hyrulian Orphanage - to head out into the world to gain some fame as a mage and to search for his parents. He is at many times aided by other adventurers to whom he already considers an enlarged family. The boy, however, is a main target to an evil Empire whose intentions are not yet made clear. With the help of his friends and his parents' memento - the Dream Pearl, he seeks out the truth to who he is and what he must do.

[edit] Tayro's Storyline
Tayro's story revolves around the dream kingdom Illisium and the vicious Nightmare Empire, and certain events about them. He is entitled as the Dream Keeper - the one who can keep and control the magical Dream Pearl, and must fight against a torrent of evil in order to find who his parents really were and what his legacy will be.

[edit] The Dusk War
"These events told of here were recorded in an old book, and not much is known about this mythical battle for mankind's dreams. According to the records, about fifteen years ago, the floating kingdom of Illisium, which was known for its secrecy and great magical prowess and technology, was somehow breached, the magical barriers that protected it shattered. In this precarious condition, it was easy for the Nightmare Empire, which was previously under a peace treaty with Illisium, to strike its citizens in a massive slaughter. In this vicious rampage, they somehow made the floating island plummet down into the ocean waters, making it much more vulnerable to units from the dark empire to enter. An intense battle is said to have occurred at the gates of Illisium City, but no documents exist. What became of this kingdom is currently unknown, though it's presumed they somehow survived and won their battle, as dreams still exist in our realm. I will research more about this subject."

[edit] The Early Days in the Orphanage
His childhood in the Orphanage was as normal as it could be... for one who as very young could already practice magic. Practice magic is perhaps not the most adequate choice of words. He could invoke magic but was too young and couldn't control it properly. As such, since a very young age of five, he began his self-tutelage of how to control magic, and at seven he could control a tiny flare atop his index finger. He tried many types of spellcasting, but, to many's dismay, he channeled magic better through ancient runes he'd draw on air - the ancient Arkhana art which was rarely used because it was apparently too difficult to control. At the age of nine, he had grown more accustomed to his inherent powers and started to frequently visit the Castle Library at night, sneaking out of his quarters when he was supposed to be sleeping to read and learn more about the world that surrounded him. He was caught a few times and punished for his actions, but the reward of reading so many interesting tomes was worthy. He'd play by day and study by night.
During this period, he had developed from a more introverted yet sweet person more to a rascal - he'd enjoy using his powers to play pranks on the unaware, and developed a strong bond with two of about his age which shared the same past - being orphaned at a very young age - Emily and Mike. The trio would enjoy casual trips at North Castle, and sometimes, nay, many times sneaking past the guard to the outer Fields to play around. They'd sometime visit Sage Artorius, who Tayro saw as a tutor.
During this time, certain events which haven't yet been revealed happened, leading to his despising the royalty and gaining a great sense of justice, making him think more of his priorities and making him much more mature.
The night before his fifteenth birthday - the day he had to leave the Orphanage, as he was considered able to live on his own - he was summoned by the Orphanage's headmistress, Miss Laeri, to collect the items his parents had left for him - a blue cloak fit for a mage and a strange, slightly blue-hued jewel. Not noticing its magical powers at the start, he grabbed a thread of rope and placed the jewel in a necklace around his neck, and went to sleep. That night he had a strange dream in which his stone started to glow in an azure blue color, and he woke up sweating and exhausted. Noticing it was past midnight, he gazed around at his sleeping companions in the boys' room and went back to sleep, smiling. The next day, after a farewell party and an exchange of tears and promises, he left the building at sunset, ready to start his biggest adventure yet.
