Jarbo Varilion Tanyr Elbe is a Freikorps officer with the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel of the Freikorps Marines, Stahlhelm. He is commonly referred to by his first name. He is an NPC created by Zeth.

Jarbo is Buten, 12 Buten years old, which is equivalent to 42 Standard Terran years. In a psychological and physiological developmental sense, he is roughly equivalent to a 20/21 year old Terran. He is quirky, yet highly sociable, and enjoys being around fellow officers, though he doesn’t always understand what exactly is happening all of the time. He has an odd sense of humor, but tends to keep it low key unless he’s sure he’ll fit in. He is sometimes viewed as overly critical and nit-picky, but is not being so in a cruel way, and is trying to curb the habit as he sees that it is not appealing to others the majority of the time. Jarbo is the cousin of Tannis Rhine. As a person, he is having a rough time trying to integrate into the much more Terran-saturated culture of the Freikorps, which accounts for his awkward social interactions at times. He takes combat very seriously, but is more interested in examining and exploring (not necessarily in that order). For this purpose, he is often sent on reconnaissance missions in large deployments.
Being Buten, Jarbo is gaunt, and gangly. He is not actually underweight, but the hollowed, reinforced bone structure present in the bird like species reduces his weight (65.8 kg/~145 lbs, as compared to his height, 196cm/~6’ 5”). He has iridescent blue feathers which he must make sure to cover with his suit (not usually a problem, those suits cover everything) in the field, and a grey beak. His head feathers are in the most popular style for Butens, pulled back from his head on either side (think of the sides of Wolverine’s hair from X-men). His hands have 4 finger talons and 1 thumb talon, scales also grey. His feet, other than having talons instead of nails and scales instead of skin, are not so different from Terran feet. He most often wears a standard Freikorps uniform.
Personal History
Jarbo was raised on Buteo, a planet on the very edge of the Perseus Arm nearest the Orion Arm. When the Terran Sphere and Takaran Empire came into contact, Butens (whose homeworld is politically neutral; think Switzerland, as always) were among the foremost of the species known amongst the cultural exchange of the two Arms. For his part, Jarbo chose to explore what was to Perseans a new frontier, and joined the Freikorps.
