Overview
Terra Magna is the planet known as Terra/Earth on the Baseline Universe. It is the current centre of operations of the Freikorps. It is located in the Orion Arm of the Milky Way Galaxy. It resides within Sol System, inside the Core Worlds Special Administrative District. It is the centre of interuniversal trade and communications.
Basic Information
Most of Terra Magna's population of 11.4 billion live in massive arcologies in orbit or in the great clusters of O'Neill cylinders stationed at each of the Lagrange Points. Only about a third of the population actually live on the surface. Most of the surface is taken up by the rambling estates of the noblity and the vast military headquarters of the Freikorps. There are two particular exceptions; the Military-Industrial Districts, home to Lockheed-Engelmann Heavy Industries and Skoda-Krupp-Rheinmetall, two of the largest arms manufacturers and shipbuilders in the Terran Sphere. Terra understandably possesses the heaviest defences in the entire Terran Sphere. In addition to Home Fleet, Terra's defences include the 6 massive Cross Stations as well as thousands of smaller orbital fortresses, and the sprawling fortress on Luna, Terra's moon.
