Meditation Sessions
Counselors: Geun Lee
Time: 20 minutes, three times a day
Place: Anywhere
Cost: $0

[edit] Summary

I feel in order to feel close to God, you must strike a conversation with him. When we don't talk to God, he is forced into the background and maybe even forgotten. By making ourselves pray to God throughout the day, we always keep him in our hearts and minds. In previous camps, prayer was not really emphasized as we were just running programs. But this year, by having this mandatory meditation sessions with God, we truly do keep this camp God-centered. Inspiration is taken from the Islam, where believers must pray five times a day.

[edit] Detailed Description

These meditation sessions will occur at scheduled times during the day. They will not interfere in the middle of programs, and will be scheduled around them.

At the beginning of camp during the first session, I will explain to the campers how these sessions will be run.

  1. (5 min) Walk to find a quiet area. Stand in a circle, holding hands. To set the mood, our theme song will be sung in both English and Korean.
  2. (1 min) A verse will be read from the ones below. The verse will not be explained.
  3. (15min) Group prayer.
