Rinali's parents were killed when she was very young, so she was raised by her older brother, Komui. The two have a very close relationship, to the point where Komui can only be awoken from a nap by someone whispering "Rinali's getting married" into his ear. He's very protective of her, and she usually doesn't mind (unless he interferes too much; then she tends to get a little irritated.) Originally from China, the pair have traveled the world quite frequently, due to Komui's profession as a scientist. Rinali usually works as his assistant. During a brief assignment in England, the siblings met Allen Walker, whom with Rinali attended school and became good friends.
Rinali herself is very self sacrificing, almost to an unhealthy standard at times. Her friends and family are her world and she would do anything for them, no matter the cost. She feels indebted to Komui for somewhat sacrificing some of his own needs to take care of her as a child, and cares for him deeply. Obviously, Rinali is a kind, giving friend. She tends to get angry when the people she loves make foolish decisions that could possibly endanger them. Rinali also make a mean cup of coffee, which probably feeds Komui's addiction.
