Seven Jewels of Mars
From Gwn
The seven prominent cities in Mars are based on the religious texts of the Rig Veda. They are named after the seven planets, from the Sun to Saturn. In the text, they represent the seven colors of visible light that lead to creation. The seven sites were originally the locations of Terra-forming equipment buried in Martian craters by the EUSA in AC 194. After they were buried to produce viable atmosphere, mining cities grew around the craters. After 50 years, the cities rivaled the population of Hadak Ura.
Around AC 223, the Martian Federation fell into recession, causing the Seven Jewels to become outlaw cities. A version of mobile suit fighting mixed with gladiator fighting began soon after, where combatants would fight in home-made/scavenged mecha, sometimes to the death. This sport was all but outlawed by the rise of the Martian Confederation, however after the fall of Gemini and the death of Alexander Whitewolf caused the cities to fall back into recession.
