A Mobile Suit Carrier is often used for passive and active transport of mobile weaponry throughout space. Since Mobile Suits are short-range combat vehicles, the role of carriers is always active. Since they are primarily used for transport, they are never heavily armed or armored, rather relying on speed to deliver and extract units.

Often mobile suit carriers are never named or given important status because of their expendability in service. Their pilots are often mobile suit cadets. Because of their limited status in battle, carriers will always be a side topic.
