The Treaty
We the citizens of the Milky Way Galaxy hereby submit a treaty against renewed enmity between our brothers, and seek the protection and encouragement for liberty, freedom, and peace. While wars have divided humanity and left the scars of war all over our combined civilization, we must make a solemn promise within ourselves to actively prevent the horrors of war from ever occurring again. It is not the respect of the people that governments must earn, rather the respect of the government that people must pursue, and work effortlessly to remain virtuous.
Term I
The treaty of AWARE should not represent any individual's interests, and instead should exemplify the needs of humanity. No specific concession shall be made to any individual person or nation, instead the purpose of the treaty is to end the desire for such thinking. Instead the individual should ponder how they can better serve humanity, and how they can best be true to themselves without compromising the liberty of others.
Term II
To enforce the treaty through active participation, a council must be founded to keep AWARE current and active within the member nations. The council member shall be elected through free elections of the nation, regardless of the political system of the nation. The council shall have a chair, elected from within, and shall serve on the planet of Earth, in the city of Rome. The chair will only serve to break ties within the council and serve as a leader to the other council members.
Term III
The military of AWARE will be a true military of the people. Armed within the forces shall be a ground army of soldier/citizens, trained in civil aid as well as military combat, a navy of both aquatic and celestial ships armed with mobile weaponry, and a guard for the protection the homeworlds from outside threats. No AWARE force shall be turned upon each other, and action can only be approved through cooperation of the council, and through the council only.
Term IV
With aid of humanity, it will be required that the proper training of military personnel is required to ensure peace. The forces will immediately need centers of education, teaching both civil aid, liberal arts, and military techniques to the recruits, and will not serve as a bastion of nationalism. Only properly educated soldiers can properly defend freedom, liberty and peace while upholding the individuality of the person.
On this day of August 7th, After Colony 279, we the people sign this treaty to ourselves and hold it to every member of the human race. We will seek a mutual armament of allied force to end any insurgent activities seeking active war, to defend civilization and promote the growth of humanity throughout the stars. Only through a strong and intelligently responsible military shall the threat of war vanish, and only through a proper alliance of all peoples will conflicts be resolved, peace be fought for, and the sanctity of human life be defended.
