Character Background

Creator Karyann Rentas actually had no real plan for Kari Shiro at the time of creation for the RPG. Her name was a combination of the first part of her creator’s name with one letter changed, and the word shiro (japanese for white); an homage to a favorite fictional character at the time by the name of “Carrie White”. Kari was essentially regarded by the creator herself as a “Mary Sue” pilot without too much of a background or personality. Of course, such a character bored Kary to tears and actually had plans to eliminate her. It wasn’t until a while after that she began to infuse the character with personality, or many as the game evolved. Her past and other details came in at their own pace thus a compilation of a perfect background in sync with the timeline for her character gives Kary constant headaches to this day.

Biography

Name: Kari Shiro Age: 19 Sex: Female Height: 5' 5 Nationality: Japanese/Hispanic Blood Type: O Family: Kasumi and Marcus Shiro (parents, deceased) Musashi Shiro (brother, status unknown), Sakura Shiro-Mitsurugi (daughter), Kaneda Mitsurugi (fiancee, deceased), Xavier Fenix (semi brother), Keljar Moatis (semi-brother), Neo Lee (Godfather to Sakura)

Kari, daughter of a diplomatic father and an artisitc mother, was born on the small moon of Jupiter, Sinope. She was raised in a secure and loving family, her mother teaching she to be ladylike and her younger brother Musashi to be genteel. Her brother's mysterious and sudden disappearence started Kari's young life into a downfall. In the midst of happenings, her psychic abilities attracted the attention of head of Project Akuma and made an offer to her parents to use her as a subject, but they did not consent. This decision would eventually lead into the murder of her parents in Io. And unfortunately Kari witnesses their murder, and forever left a mark in her heart and mind. Kari lived with her legal guardians Crystal and Rowan, friends of the family. After witnessing a serious change in Kari's usual behavior, they sent her to an institution for mental rehabilitation and observation. It would be there that Messiah, Kari's split personality would manifest, due to an assault by one of the doctors there. This memory was left blocked in deep in her mind. A year passed and Kari suddenly felt the need to do something with her life and started training to become a pilot under the Io Colonial Senate. She eventually became strong and fair pilot. Various events happened in between. She became Senator of the ICS when Odeon Satoki vanished, she fell in and out of love and started to question herself in total. Even deep buried thougts of her past began showing up in the form of nightmares. More turnarounds came after the Senate fell when it came under Gemini attack and conflicts with Soldier Leo, the only person she believe could kill her. Kari's boyfriend Kaneda dies in battle with Gemini, and leaves a big change for her: Sakura, her daughter. Kari has since settled down from battling, but from time to time, she would fight. She gained the affections of Dorian Katsuragi and now had a new responsability for her daughter. she had distrust for the USF since she had her psychic abilities voided. She also starts to realize her feelings for a significant enemy of hers... After the battle in Chicago and Dorian's sudden death, she strives now to make a change. She wants to become a pilot again and wants to protect her daugther. She wishes to find out about her brother, and wants to find love again

Personal Bio

Kari and Tom became special agents for the UEG Newtype division, Psycorp. Arising conflicts between the UEG and HSA worried Kari and even as she didn't agree with the path the UEG was taking; she felt she had to continue defending and battling in the UEG, for the sake of her daughter if anything. The final straw for her was when she, along with Tom, Keljar and Shin, protected the project Electra, which turned out to be a weapon to use to eradicate Mars. The experience plummeted Kari into a short, almost nostalgic depression. She and her husband made the concious decision that thing were not going to get better for them, unless they leave. They take up an offer given to them by a man named Michael Corinthos to leave the system on colony ships. Not long afterwards, the HSA retaliated in a battle where the Earth became destroyed; an event that sealed Kari's decision to leave. At the same time Kari with Messiah's help, came to terms with the nightmares of her past a few days before she was set to leave the system. In the final battle on the astral plane, Kari's longtime friend Myria is murdered and it is revealed to her that her biological younger brother Musashi is alive and well (though his location is unknown). The Epsilons now live in the Beta Colony around Bacchus, working in a bar/restaraunt with her husband and Keljar. She gave birth to a second child; a son whom Tom chosen the name "Kyren". She also is now mentally stable and had a decline in the nightmares that plagued her for years.
