The second eldest of the McGregor clan, Yvette is somewhat cold and conniving and people know from the moment they meet her that she is a force to be reckoned with. She craves power and is willing to do anything to get it. At the same time, she’s made a life for herself, being married to shipping magnate Chester. They have a young daughter who is at school in Europe. While she loves her husband and daughter, family isn’t always first and foremost with her, which sometimes puts her at odds with Chester, who has a demanding job of his own and has had to be almost totally responsible for their daughter’s upbringing. Unlike Joseph, she sometimes forgets the values she was taught in her pursuit of power. Her perpetual condescending tone and selfish ways make her a formidable businesswoman, but a very unpleasant figure in her personal life. She grew up watching both of her parents wheel and deal their way to the top, her admiration of them turned into determination to be just like them and that determination became competition, the need to become even more successful than her parents. It’s that attitude that has put her at constant odds with Anna. She took that attitude with her to Oxford, her main focus was doing every single thing better than her fellow students.

She eventually fell for junior shipping executive Chester, who was a few years older than her. At first she didn’t like the thought of getting married, as it would interfere with her fledgling career, but was Chester was able to talk her into it, with some help from Anna. When she had her daughter, Kate, she reluctantly decided to put her career on hold for a few years to raise her. No sooner than Kate’s 4th birthday, Yvette resumed her career and enter McGregor has a junior VP. She eventually worked her way up to VP of marketing, making a name as a promising young executive, with other companies trying to lure her away. The more she rose in the business word, the more rigid she became. Her aspiration is to build a shopping mall, but Anna doesn’t want to take on such an enormous task. She’ll join forces with the devious and ruthless Cassandra Lightner to displace Anna as CEO and take over McGregor, after a shocking revelation about Andrew. Will she permanently damage her relationship with her mother or will she do the right thing and put family before power? Yvette cannot always connect with her conscience, which is her biggest flaw. At times, she knows what she is doing is wrong, but continues to do it if it benefits her. The only person, who can speak to her better nature, is Joseph, because of his keen perception of all his siblings. There will be times that he will be able to show her the right way and there will be time when he cannot.

Anna’s eldest son and right hand man. With his business mind and negotiation skills, he’s become an enormous asset to his family’s company. Although privileged, he was raised with strong values and morals and has become the wisest of all Anna and Andrew’s children. He is unwilling to sacrifice his personal conviction for anything. However, he does have flaws and sometimes doesn’t use the best judgment. His marriage to Trish Marriot ended do to him neglecting her needs do to work. At times, he was absent in the life of their son, JC, but has since developed good relationship with him and become of mentor of sorts to him. He struggles to keep Anna from going too far in her rivalry it Jacqueline, mainly for Trish and JC’s sake.

Joseph had a hard time getting over his divorce and to an extent, still can’t cope with it, as Trish was the only woman he had been with. Joseph hasn’t moved on yet, because he’s the type of person who is afraid to commit to someone else after already investing so many years of his life in a marriage. When Trish decides to move on with an old college friend, Joseph will try and rebuild his relationship with Trish. Joseph wants the chance to prove that he can be an adequate husband, but is it too late? Or will he succeed? There will be a moment of vulnerability that could lead to a rekindling of the bond between Trish and Joseph. Joseph’s relationships with his brother and sisters are very close, he understands each of them well and he isn’t afraid to tell them when they have done something wrong. In the years before he began his corporate career, Joseph was not interested in the family business, instead he opted to try and make his own way in the world after graduating college, in an attempt to distinguish himself from the McGregor.

Soon after, he decided that it would be better to go back home and work for the company, but insisted that he work his way up. By the time he met Trish, he had become a top notch salesman in the electronic department of the main McGregor store. At first, things were normal and Joseph was always home at night, but as he climbed higher in the company, the longer he was away from home. This steadily put a strain on the marriage, but Joseph always remained committed to making it work. But Trish on the other hand, grew tired of his constant absence and eventually decided the marriage should end.
