Anna’s eldest son and right hand man. With his business mind and negotiation skills, he’s become an enormous asset to his family’s company. Although privileged, he was raised with strong values and morals and has become the wisest of all Anna and Andrew’s children. He is unwilling to sacrifice his personal conviction for anything. However, he does have flaws and sometimes doesn’t use the best judgment. His marriage to Trish Marriot ended do to him neglecting her needs do to work. At times, he was absent in the life of their son, JC, but has since developed good relationship with him and become of mentor of sorts to him. He struggles to keep Anna from going too far in her rivalry it Jacqueline, mainly for Trish and JC’s sake.
Joseph had a hard time getting over his divorce and to an extent, still can’t cope with it, as Trish was the only woman he had been with. Joseph hasn’t moved on yet, because he’s the type of person who is afraid to commit to someone else after already investing so many years of his life in a marriage. When Trish decides to move on with an old college friend, Joseph will try and rebuild his relationship with Trish. Joseph wants the chance to prove that he can be an adequate husband, but is it too late? Or will he succeed? There will be a moment of vulnerability that could lead to a rekindling of the bond between Trish and Joseph. Joseph’s relationships with his brother and sisters are very close, he understands each of them well and he isn’t afraid to tell them when they have done something wrong. In the years before he began his corporate career, Joseph was not interested in the family business, instead he opted to try and make his own way in the world after graduating college, in an attempt to distinguish himself from the McGregor.
Soon after, he decided that it would be better to go back home and work for the company, but insisted that he work his way up. By the time he met Trish, he had become a top notch salesman in the electronic department of the main McGregor store. At first, things were normal and Joseph was always home at night, but as he climbed higher in the company, the longer he was away from home. This steadily put a strain on the marriage, but Joseph always remained committed to making it work. But Trish on the other hand, grew tired of his constant absence and eventually decided the marriage should end.
