Inheritance/Session Three

<Greenling> So. The vet is taking Misty back.

• Jayle glances outside at the weather

<Greenling> He seems to be a young fella with glasses, kinda cute. He pets and soothes the puppy.

<Greenling> The snow is falling harder.

• Arista is working on doing the paperwork, since she did volunteer for it, sitting in one of the chairs near the front.

• Ran| is very protective of Misty. :< But he seems like an okay guy...

<Greenling> It seems to be up to a foot now and climbing fast, though they seem to be sending out emergency salt-tossy-things.

<Ran|> "Ick. Walking back in that is going to suck. D: "

<Jayle> "Hmm...I think we can finally call this a significant snowfall."

<Jayle> "Suggestions?"

<Ran|> "Uhm. I don't think I can fit both of you on my Reverse Dogsled. :< "

<Arista> "We could call the dorm and see if Esther or Charlie are home?"

<Ran|> "Ooo! Yeah! ...they have cars, right? >.> "

<Arista> "I'm not sure, but it couldn't hurt to check."

<Ran|> "Neaaaat. What's our number? >.> "

• Arista gives Ran the dorm number.

<Arista> "You might want to write that down or memorize it or something." >_>

<Ran|> "Number!" Ran dashes off to the desk and leans over it. "Can I use your phone? :D "

<Jayle> Jayle goes fishing for her cell phone

• Ran| fidgets. D:

<Greenling> "Sure," the secretary yawns.

<Ran|> "Awesome! Thanks!" Ran snatches it and dials.

• Charlie was sleeping on the couch, with the drivers manual for a dodge voyager lying open over her face

<Greenling> Riiiing.

• Charlie groaned and rolled over, trying to ignore it for about two rings before she got up and went, answering it with a sluggish tone in her voice. "Unnghhh...hullo?"

<Ran|> "VICTORY! Uhm, hi! I guess you two didn't come home after we left and kill each other! :D "

<Ran|> "I mean, you came home. 'Cause you picked up the phone. But not the murder!"

• Charlie holds the phone a little away from her head after 'victory.'

<Charlie> "Hashigawa...? S'that you?"

<Ran|> "Yeah! I'm at the vets cause we found a dog and her leg got broke so we put her in a box on my snowboard and I hauled her here and we saw this creepy thing and we passed these other people on the road and it's really snowing so can you come pick us up in a car so we don't have to walk back? :D"

• Jayle sighs and wonders how much she's going to have to apologize to Charlie after this

<Charlie> "Oh...uh...yeah, how many people?"

<Ran|> "Four! Me and Arista and Jayle and Misty! Oh wait Misty has to stay the night I think. :< "

<Greenling> The folks you brought with you also look up.

<Ran|> "Oh wait do we need to give you two a ride? Uhm. Two more!"

<Charlie> "Ok, can it wait about forty minutes or so? I'll bring an SUV"

<Greenling> "If you want."

<Greenling> "I mean, we'd appreciate it a lot."

<Ran|> "Awesome! I didn't know you had an SUV. :o "

<Charlie> "Uhh...yeah...I'm..uh...watching it for a friend while she's...out of town"

<Jayle> "...why do I suddenly have a bad feeling about this?"

<Ran|> "Ohhhhh. Neat! o.o "

<Charlie> "K, so, where are you again?"

<Ran|> "Vet's office!" Ran gives him the address and probably more directions than he really needs. Including the spot where she saw the Creepy Thing, which probably isn't a very good landmark.

<Charlie> "K, I'll be by in a little."

<Ran|> "Yay! Thanks :D "

• Charlie sighed and hung up, going to grab her jacket and go hunting for an SUV

<Ran|> Ran hangs up to. "Wow, that's awesome. I didn't know she had an SUV but it's awful convenient she does."

<Greenling> Where is Charlie looking?

<Charlie> Hmmm, parking lots are great for these things, how about the grocery store?

<Greenling> Grocery store would be a fair walk.

<Greenling> There are overnight parking lots on campus.

<Greenling> You can find one easily enough there.

<Charlie> Awesome, campus it is.

<Charlie> Let's get us a nice gas-guzzler on somebody else's dime.

<Charlie> A few minutes later, Charlie was on her way out with the SUV, headed for where she'd been directed to for a pickup.

• Charlie drives at maximum speed in the snow if she doesn't think there are cops about by the way

<Greenling> Zoom zoom!

<Greenling> You can get there in ten minutes.

• Charlie honks three times while she's pulled up out front.

<Greenling> This is audible from inside.

<Arista> "...well."

<Arista> "That was quick at least."

<Jayle> "Well then..." Jayle glances around, making sure they havn't forgotten anything, "Shall we be off then?"

• Arista grabs her stuff.

<Arista> "Let's go. Misty will be ok tomorrow, and hopefully the snow will stop by then."

<Ran|> "I guess. Wish I could stay so Misty doesn't get lonely but I think they'd kick me out if I tried. XD " Ran packs up the Reverse Dogsled.

<Charlie> "Ok, everybody inside. People who don't live with me, directions. Whoever thinks they live closest first."

<Greenling> They give you directions. They don't live far from here; apparently they were just heading out to return some videos.

<Arista> "Shotgun!"

<Greenling> So they're probably closer.

<Ran|> "Awwww! D: "

• Arista jumps into the front seat.

<Ran|>  :|

• Charlie plans to take a leisurely drive with people actually in the car. "You need me to stop by the video store?"

<Ran|> "I will have my vengeance! Next time, shotgun seat will be ~mine~!"

<Greenling> "No, we'll just get them and the car tomorrow. Hopefully."

<Greenling> "Unless you're good at fixing cars and feeling even more charitable? We'd pay you."

<Charlie> "Sadly, I don't know much when it comes to working with a toolbox. If there's a problem, I can probably figure out what it is though."

<Greenling> "Up to you. Thanks so much for picking us up."

• Charlie shook her head then. "Nah, you shoudl probably just take it in then."

<Greenling> Nodnod.

• Charlie takes them home

<Greenling> This is simple.

• Ran| keeps a careful eye out for the Creepy Thing. o__o

<Charlie> "So...somebody wanna grab me some Fast Food in exchange for the ride?"

<Jayle> "I think I might have enough to spot you. Maybe."

• Charlie starts heading for a Rally's, or a BK

<Ran|> "Foooooood. :V "

<Greenling> You may find a fast food place with a drive-thru open.

<Greenling> "Welcome to Burger King, how can I help you?"

<Charlie> She leaned back. "Can you spot me for a #6?"

<Arista> "I want a number three, no pickles, and I want a latte." >_>

• Arista hands Charlie a ten.

<Ran|> "Cheeseburger!" Ran pulls crumpled bills from somewhere.

<Charlie> "Awesome. Cheeseburger, #'s 6 and 3, no pickles on either, latte, and an extra order of fries."

<Jayle> "And a grilled chicken sandwitch."

<Charlie> "Grilled chicken. We need a grilled chicken too."

<Greenling> Drive-thru lady repeats the order back to you.

<Greenling> "Wait. I'm sorry... we don't have any chicken down this late at night."

<Greenling> "It'll be five minutes. Is that okay?"

<Greenling> "Or would you like something else?"

<Charlie> "We can wait."

<Greenling> "Okay. Please pull forward to the second window."

<Charlie> She pulled forwards and went to fiddle with the radio channels.

<Greenling> They will give you your drinks.

<Greenling> Jayle: doot n doot

<Greenling> Ran and Charlie: there is something on top of the part of the roof hanging over the drivethru.

<Greenling> Arista: lemur.

<Arista> "Hey, Ran...do you see that?" Arista points. "It's that same thing from earlier."

<Ran|> "What? D: Ick ick ick ick. D: " Ran makes sure all the windows are rolled up. DX

<Greenling> They are.

<Charlie> "What is that?"

<Arista> "That's really creepy..."

<Greenling> A worker pokes her head out the window. "Would you like to get your- ..." Window's closed. :<

<Arista> "It's a lemur. We saw it on the way to the vet. I think it might be following us."

<Jayle> "You think?"

<Ran|> "It's following us! DX "

<Greenling> She looks for a moment and then, not hearing your convo, presumes you're waiting and heads back in.

<Jayle> "So...who wants to open the window to get our food?"

• Charlie rolls hers down

<Greenling> The thing does not move.

<Greenling> In another minute or so, you get your food. All pretty freshly made- seems like they went ahead and made new fries for you, too, since you're waiting.

<Ran|> "Why won't it leave ;~; "

<Arista> "I'm gonna do some research when I get home."

• Arista keeps a close eye on the lemur.

<Greenling> Now there are two!

<Greenling> They watch you as you drive past, head swivelling to keep their eyes directly on you.

<Ran|> "..... why are there two of them now. ;~; "

<Jayle> "There's no way they could be actually lemurs..."

<Arista> "No, I don't think they were, either. It's too unnatural."

• Charlie heads home slowly. "I'll drop you guys off and then be home in a bit."

<Ran|> "Kay...." Ran is jumpy now x_x

<Jayle> "I'd like to note that those things are really, REALLY creepy."

<Ran|> "Extremely creepy."

<Arista> "Yeah, no kidding. Like I said, when I get home, I'm doing research on those things."

<Jayle> "But now, food!"

<Ran|> "Foooooooood~"

<Greenling> You have food, and you can head home. :3

• Charlie pulls up to drop everyone off. "Like I said, I'll be back in a bit. I'm just gonna go park."

<Ran|> "Kaaaay. o.o"

<Arista> "Hurry back. Those things might be dangerous."

• Jayle grabs the snowboard

<Greenling> Charlie heads back and drops it off.

• Ran| guards the rear vs Creepy Thing(s).

• Charlie walks home, keeping her coat pulled tightly about her.

• Arista stays close to Jayle and Ran.

<Greenling> The wind blows around Charlie.

<Greenling> It's bitterly cold, and the snow sticks to your hair.

• Charlie keeps a hand on her hat to keep it from flying off.

• Ran| stays near the front door to let Charlie in (and also to keep watch for Creepy Things trying to sneak in o.o )

<Greenling> It's dark.

• Jayle goes up to the room to drop off the snowboard

<Greenling> Cold and dark and...

• Arista heads up to the room, looking for her laptop and prowling around through places online to see what see can find about anything that remotely resembles those things that are following us.

• Charlie nods to Ran. "Thanks Hashigawa."

• Ran| nods. For once, she isn't yammering on about nothing. >.>

• Charlie yawns and heads back to the couch to pick up her Voyager manual

<Greenling> The Voyager manual is covered in snowpile.

<Charlie> ...

<Charlie> .....

<Charlie> D=<

• Charlie brushes the snow off, praying it hasn't melted and warped the pages

<Greenling> A little.

• Jayle flops on a convinient chair

<Greenling> It's still readable.

• Charlie rages and storms off into her room to sulk

• Ran| goes around making sure all the windows are firmly closed. No sense taking chances. x.x

• Jayle starts peeling her sweater off and wanders over into her bedroom

• Arista turns the laptop off after a while, digging into her thus far untouched burger and fries, having already finished the coffee while she was researching. Arista wanders into the den and collapses onto one of the chairs.

• Charlie omnoms in her room

• Ran| is still wandering around "enhancing the security" of the room.
