Born on a little island in the West, spent most of his formative years sailing and cloud-watching. Mildly obsessed with the sky, storms, and clouds; after many years of experimenting and searching for better materials, managed to create decently-functioning hang-gliders for his tribe. When that proved less than useful, he invented windsurfing, which was... quite a bit more popular, to say the least, but less satisfying.
Cognizant enough of the potential for these technologies, he directed various competent friends and relatives into positions where they could exploit them for better fishing, defense, and mercantile gain almost as an afterthought, but continued to spend several years trying to develop new and better ways to fly. Generally regarded as both ridiculously useful and batfuck insane.
And then he was struck by lightning.
Now, since he was a boy, he'd had the drive to try to sail all the way to Wavecrest, or even farther, towards what little he knew of the Southern Direction, but he'd put that off for his projects, and was now in his thirties. Certain entities were unhappy about this, and this worked; though rather than chastising him, he simply decided to try to fly to An-Teng on magical lightning-powered wings.
Soon enough he was dragged to Yu-Shan, and a couple of months later he Exalted. While technically a model member of the Golden Barque, and more than pleasant enough for most Bureau deizens, he still hasn't given up his dreams... they've just gotten more impressive.
