Emi

From Greatelementrpg

Name: Emi
Sex: Female
Age: 120, appears to be 19 by normal standards
Race: Elf
Nationality: Audvera Heights
Played by: Mii

Appearance: As with most elves, Emi is considered astonishingly beautiful to all of the other races; among her own kind, she is ordinary. She is shorter than other elves, but still tends to tower over most humans at 5’9”, only weighing hardly over 119lbs. Her thin frame has not erased all of her curves, however. Her clothes usually consist of simple dresses in browns, greens, blues, or blacks and a long, black or white cloak. While she prefers to walk without shoes, she will adorn some kind of boot for travel. Around her ankles and wrists, she wears thick silver bracelets inscribed with the same runes on her earrings.
In contrast to her forest surroundings, her hair is the bright color of rubies and is kept wildly loose. It falls in twists down her elongated back, shorter along her collar bone and framing her face. Straight bangs fall across her forehead, draping into her thin and slanted eyes; they’re dark, black to anyone who isn’t nose-to-nose with her and seem to shine in multiple places. Her eye lashes are long and thick, dark black and obvious against her pearl-colored skin. Her hands are small with long, spider-like fingers; her feet don’t appear as if they could support her entire body. Her face is slender and kind of long, with high cheekbones and a rounded chin. Her lips are full and stained a deep, cherry color, and her cheeks are always rouged by a natural blush. And lastly, the most noticeable feature of any elf is their ears; hers jut back from her head, long and slanted horizontally. They are pierced on the tips with silver-colored rings, each thick and inscribed with unreadable markings.

Background: Emi was born in the Hiam Forest of Southern Audvera, the only daughter to a regular elven couple. Her parents names were Tias and Jent, crafters among their elven village. They were disliked by a minority of elves, due mainly to the fact that they traveled to many of the cities within Audvera Heights for trading purposes. Due to this fact, Emi was raised mainly by another elf, by the name of Selvin.
Due to growing up in another elves care, Emi escaped most of the prejudice against her parents. However, secretly, she became amazed by the things they came home with. She found the craftsmanship of humans, dwarves, and other civilizations that lived throughout Audvera astonishing and intricate. However, the only elves that knew this were her parents and Selvin. Selvin, who had been training her in the arts of healing magic and fighting with a Ring Blade, a large curved blade that connects in a circle. He discouraged her love for the human made materials, mainly, but loved Emi as if she was his own daughter. He ignored this flaw, one that went against all of elven principles, and nurtured her advanced skills in healing.
Soon, Emi was sought out for healing by people through out the village. She was growing up, having lived for almost fifty years already. She began to gain new respect for her family from other elves, and soon they retired as she aged seventeen from being merchants. Emi was crushed as soon, all the items she marveled had to be sold, and her magic began to show it.
On her ninetieth birthday, the secret she had been keeping for many years had been released. Those she had treated with magic were usually quiet about her odd collection, grateful for the help she provided him. One time, however, a patient asked for her hand in marriage. When she refused him, he spread the rumors to all the elves who took this kind of admiration as treason.
To escape taunting and dishonor, she fled her home village and traveled to the far edge of the Hiam Forest, to a small elven settlement that dealt in mainly trading. She had left all of her belongings in her home village, and began a new as a town healer. She treated merchants and traders, mainly, since the town wasn’t home to many civilians. In her spare time, she began to study books that had been given to her as payment.
That is when she learned of the Gate Rune, at age one hundred and five. Already blessed with one ruin in her left palm, a Flowing Rune which had taken most of Selvin’s attention and her childhood to master. She began to find the idea of the Gate Rune intriguing, and whenever she met a passerby, slipped in a question or two. She believes that when she has enough money and knowledge, she will pursue the ruin and make it her own.

Personality: Compared to most elves, Emi has always been on the more eccentric side. She still maintains that serious demeanor, expressing far more maturity then any other race at the age of nineteen. Since she enjoyed being a scholar in most of her free time, she has knowledge far beyond her years, even if it doesn’t compare to most elder elves. After all, she is only child. She enjoys dreaming and thinking up different scenarios inside her head. She fantasizes about things she wouldn’t dare face in the real world, and thus most people can find her rather spacey. She is a kind and caring person to all people, as long as they show no hostility towards her. However, she has never met a human face to face and the idea scares, thrills, and angers her all at once.
She is rarely sad, but when she is, it is a beautiful thing to witness. While she doesn’t cry, her face takes on a mournful undertone that seems to be the covering of a great loss that can never quite be explained. She is also rarely angry, but elves lose their captivating beauty when they do become angry. If hell hath no fury like a woman scorned, nothing can compare to an angry, female elf. Aside from being attacked or provoked, Emi will never attack aside from that. Emi is usually happy, although held tightly in her dream like state. She is often caught humming as she heals or creates herbal potions and mixes, and has been known to dance. The elves in the edge-village refer to her as a ‘fairy-tale’ elf, describing the carefree and relaxed nature clearly seen in her persona.

Wielded Weapons: There is no true style by which Emi fights, for she doesn’t fight often aside from her training (which she performs privately and secretly). She fights with a Ring Blade, an obvious weapon whenever she carries it, usually strapped to her back. The blade is rounded into a hoop, about the size of a hula hoop, which she can easily fit herself through in complex patterns that require an elve’s agility and flexibility. It is not entirely dull on the inner part of the ring, but Emi has mastered the art of handling it. The outside is sharpened like a wave blade, and made of the same silver that adorns her wrists and ankles. It was a gift carved from Selvin himself, but she inscribed it with the same runic symbols that adorn her bracelets and earrings. She calls the weapon ‘Mithrim’.

Runes: Emi only has one rune, on her left hand. It’s the Flowing Rune, a gift from her parents and Selvin. It is the reason her healing is renown in the two villages she’s been to. She hopes to add two more to herself, including her quest for the Gate Rune.
