No missles at opening sequence

From the game Super Metroid for the Super Nintendo

Do the Glitched up room / reset glitch and reset your game (after saving). Once you restart your game, you'll start from the beginning of the game with all your items. Once you get control of your character, look up and you'll have no missles. Once you get out of this area, though, you'll sometimes end up with 0 missles or you'll end up with all of your missles back.
