From the game Rocket: Robot on Wheels for the Nintendo 64.
Get an object in your tractor beam. Then, go to a surface and make it go above the surface while you go below. You will be hanging by the object under the surface and will be able to move the object around above so it looks like you're playing as it. You can do this to crates, sea shells, badguys, almost anything you can grab.
