The The MacCulloch School of Dancing was founded in 1955, under the direction of Rae MacCulloch.

Her first classes began with seven students in the kitchen of her sister Sybil Cameron's Glen Roy home. Together Rae, her husband, Alex and her sister, Sybil, laid the foundation for what was to become one of Glengarry's success stories.

Today, Rae and her daughters, Heather Forbes and Deborah Wheeler, direct over 500 students in Martintown, Maxville and Navan.

In 1972, the MacCulloch Dancers took their first major trip when they toured Scotland with the Glengarry Pipe Band. Appearances on CFCF-TV in Montreal, CJOH in Ottawa, CBC in Halifax and the John Allan Cameron show followed.

On New Years Day of 1976, Glengarry dancers joined the Rose Bowl Parade in the streets of Pasadena, California. This tour also included performances in Disneyland, California and USA bicentennial celebrations in San Francisco. In October, bicentennial celebrations continued in Philadelphia and Washington.

Over the next 21 years the MacCulloch dancers have performed across the world. Recently they have represented Canada in Disney World, Florida, Idaho and Utah, USA, Puerto Rico and the Republic of China, Spain, Mexico, Belgium and Bulgaria. Other highlights include performances with the NAC orchestra in 2000 and the Nokia Brier in 2001.

The MacCulloch Dancers celebrate Glengarry's rich history through lively presentations of Scottish Folkloric and Canadian Step Dancing.
