Dr. Bernard Villeneuve

Bernard Villeneuve was born July 18th, 1921 in Maxville. His parents were Domina and Helena Villeneuve.Bernard was an Air Gunner with the R.C.A.F during the Second World War. While in England, in the midst of the war, Bernard managed to continue singing as he and his sisters and brothers had done for years in Maxville and area. He also joined a group who put on concerts on the B.B.C. which were broadcast in Canada on C.B.C radio. Bernard was a soloist, and was heard by his family and friends across the ocean. His favourite solo was Mighty Like a Rose.
After the war he went to McGill University and became a dentist. He practised in Alexandria where he married Florence Gormley. They had six children - Mary, Barbara, William, Kathleen and twins John and James.
Dr. Villeneuve passed away on July 8th, 1971.
