Beverly MacQueen

Beverly MacQueen was born in Dunvegan, September 16, 1929. He was a self-taught violin and piano player. Bev started playing for local dances when he was eleven years old. Robert (Bob) Urquhart and his sister Joyce, would pick up Bev to go to the dances. They were called the Skye Orchestra. He received $2.00 to play from 9 pm - 2 am.

Bev also played with the Glen Orchestra, The MacDonald Dougie Orchestra and Ron Clare’s band. He was very active in promoting Celtic music with the Glengarry Old Time Fiddlers Association. He loved to see the younger generation carry on the music he loved so well.
