From Giantess

[edit] The End?

A light glares into your eyes, blinding you. You instinctively close them, and turn your head away. The light fades away after a few seconds, but your eyes continue to burn. As you recover, the world around you comes back into focus - but it's not where you expected to be.

You are standing in the middle of a huge, gray room. It seems almost entirely featureless at a glance, but closer inspection reveals that it is entirely featureless, with not a single imperfection or even shadow in sight. Looking down, you are taken aback by the fact that you also have no shadow - the only way you can tell there's a floor beneath you at all is by feeling it through your feet.

"Hi."

You jump at the sound of this voice from behind, simultaneously spinning around and stepping back to see a middle-aged man standing behind you. He is wearing a simple black business suit, his tie flapping in some non-existent breeze. He looks at you with his seemingly pitch black eyes, and smiles reassuringly.

"Sorry, didn't mean to scare you. I'm afraid I've got some bad news for you. Here, take a seat."

You open your mouth to ask exactly what seat he's referring to, but find yourself sitting at a table with him before you can make sound, with no recollection of how you got there.

"Well, you seem like the kind of person who doesn't like to be held in suspense, so let's make this quick. I'm afraid you're dead."

Surprisingly to yourself, this statement was not at all unexpected. If you're honest, you already knew it deep down, although you fake surprise anyway.

"...what?...how?"

"I'm afraid I don't have the authority to tell you that. You'll find that out soon enough..."

The man leans forward in his chair towards you, putting his hands together and resting his elbows on the featureless table.

"...or perhaps not. You see, I'm here to offer you a second chance."

This, you were not expecting at all.

"You mean ... you can bring me back to life?"

"Absolutely."

This seems to good to be true. You die, and immediately you're offered the chance to go back. There has to be some kind of catch here - what's so special about your life?

"Why?"

"Well, it's complicated, but basically the idea is that we send healthy people, who died before they could live the full life we would like them to, back to the living world, so they can finish what they started. It's kind of like a charity effort."

"Wait, so you can put my back in my life?"

"In ... a sense."

He seems less enthusiastic about that question. Looks like you found the catch.

"Meaning?"

"Well ... we can't just throw you back into life as you know it - imagine it, people coming back to life, all over the world, just crawling out of their graves. There would be panic everywhere. We looked into re-incarnation, giving people new bodies for new lives, but that simply just doesn't work - you're stuck with that body, I'm afraid. So instead, we developed a more ... unique solution. You'll go back to life in your old body, with all your living needs, but no-one will be able to see you."

"What, like a ghost?"

Once again, he seems quite taken aback by this.

"...Yes, more or less."

"What-"

"I'm afraid there's no more time for questions. I'm going to have to ask you to make a choice - do you want to return to living world, or do you want to continue on to whatever else there is?"

It looks like you're not going to be able to get any more information out of him. You're still not sure about the legitimacy of his claims, but you don't know how you feel about leaving the living world behind just yet.

Do you...

...accept his offer?

...reject his offer?
