[edit] The Alexander Nash School for Exceptional Young Men and Women
[edit] The school
Hidden away on private property in the suburbs of Baltimore rests the Alexander Nash School for Exceptional Young Men and Women. Attendance to the school is by invitation, though anyone who feels they belong can apply but must pass a series of rigorous tests both mental and physical. Tuition to the school is quite pricey though invitees who would not otherwise be able to afford to attend are given a scholarship funded by Alexander Nash himself.
The school boasts a 100% graduation rate, and its ability to produce well rounded, exceptional adults, having invited only the most excellent students from all the surrounding school districts. ANS, as the school is often nicknamed have champion sports teams, academic competition teams, and musical programs -- it's almost too good to be true.
- What this means to you: You had the best education money can buy, or was provided to you. Something about you made you exceptional enough to attend this selective private high school, where you spent time in the company of similarly excellent peers. What was it about you what was so special?
[edit] A Primer on American High Schools for you Unamerican Slobs
High school starts at around age 14 to 15. The first year of high school is usually referred to as 9th grade. It lasts until grade 12, at which points most students are 18 years old. Immediately following, most students are expected to attend a college or university.
This is your five year reunion, which would have been enough for most American students to have attended a four-year college and graduated with a Bachelor's degree. Your character may or may not have earned one.
[edit] Alexander Nash
The eccentric billionaire founder of the school lives on a secluded estate in rural south-central Pennsylvania. He periodically visits his school, at least once a year to visit the graduating class. Most students are at least familiar with his face, but don't have a personal relationship with him. He's been known to attend class reunions.
[edit] Alexander Nash Jr
Alexander Nash's son, Alexander Nash Jr, is the current president of the school. He's a young man with incredible rapport with the students. Despite his friendly terms with the kids, Mr. Nash Jr runs a tight ship and maintains the respect of the students he's so friendly with. He'll certainly be present at the reunion, perhaps to share fond memories with you.
