Gran Gran Kanna

Kanna (also known as Gran Gran or Gran Gran Kanna) is a member of the Southern Water Tribe, grandmother to Sokka and Katara, mother in law to Hakoda and ex fiancé to Master Pakku.
Description
Kanna is possibly the oldest member of the Southern Water Tribe, she was born and raised in the Northern Water Tribe and was only a child during the early stages of the war. As she grew up, she made friends with a waterbender named Yugoda (who eventually became the healing teacher in the Northern Water Tribe). She also met Master Pakku who proposed to her with a necklace (which Katara now wears), due to the tribes traditions of forcing her to marry, Kanna fled from the north and joined the Southern Water Tribe.
Kanna’s attire is similar to all Water Tribe members, a blue robe and fur coat along with thick boots. Kanna appears to have a certain authority in the tribe as she appears to approve Sokka’s decisions as shown when Sokka temporarily banished Aang from the tribe in The Avatar Returns.
Relationships
Kanna obviously has a strong loving relationship with her grandchildren Sokka and Katara and it is possible that she shares a bond with her son in law Hakoda. Kanna also cares for everyone in her tribe and tries to influence them to make the right decisions in their lives.
