The Pit

Perhaps ironically named, the Pit is an elevated circular stage roughly fifteen feet across. It is located in a secluded area and screened from prying eyes by the careful attention of the Haslanti horticulturalists and the various forms of vegetation they nurture. The Pit is where Haslanti duels are conducted.

The Pit's surface is slightly depressed, allowing it to have been filled with a fine sand similar to what Haslanti would have used in their homeland to mark paths or boundaries. There are makeshift seating arrangements all around the Pit, and when a duel is underway they are often filled to capacity. Silence is the order of the day during these duels, where the first to land a telling blow is often the victor. Some remnants of dried blood litter the sand, however, as serious duels are often fought to first blood.
