[edit] Howl of the Eternal Wind
Howl of the Eternal Wind was a fellow Haltan, who had left Halta to pursue a career elsewhere after he grew disgusted with the REMFs in charge of the commandos. His presence as a member, rather than the leader, of Edge's squad was more to impart wisdom into all three of the, from his perspective, young louts in it than anything else.

An experienced airship pilot in the Haslanti fleet before the End, Ten-Knot was present for Cardith's Exodus by dint of fortune alone and has been a fast friend and important companion of Cardith's since. Ten-Knot serves as Cardith's First Mate aboard any vessel they command and while unassuming is as handy with his tools, including his sword, as any sailor. Ten-Knot is a tall, black-haired man with blue eyes and a thick beard. He appears in be in his mid-thirties.
