Synyster Gates (registered November 25, 2006), is currently reigning as both the Topical Champion and Hardcore Champion of the Freestyle Lyrics and Battle section of nobodysmiling.com. From Battling to Writing

Despite originally being rather active in the battling scene, he never felt like he was using his talents to good effect, as was proved by his negative win-loss ratio. Despite taking the scalps of such notable opponents as Bstill and taking s7ar all the way, he discovered his niche in texting was better suited to the Topical scene. He momentarily abandoned his battling career, & embarked on his mission to become one of the most noted writers on NBS. He took major steps towards his goal by achieving extremely positive critical reviews on his works, such as Reliving the Moments, The 'What Moves The Pen' Collaboration, with some of the greatest writers on the site, &, perhaps his most accomplished work to date, the conceptual piece In the Shadow of Darkness

The Road to Silverware

After nurturing & advancing his style of writing, Synyster entered into a 8 man tournament for the Hardcore Belt. Carving a path through Essence (No Show) & Riz N, he defeated Yodh Is in the Final Round to be crowned Hardcore Champion. He lost his first defense to Snuffluepagus, but regained the belt with a closely fought battle with Keith Aimz. Synyster has held the belt ever since.

Some time later, popular member of NBS Quis, known as Syn, was reigning topical champion, and, after defeating Snuffleupagus, Syn granted a title match to Synyster. The theme was settled on 'Lucifer as God'. After a riveting & closely fought battle, Synyster Gates claimed victory, & unified both Hardcore & Topical titles, cementing his place as a real presence withing the online writing community.
