Sloppy Joe

--Sloppy Joe--

Sloppy Joe is a mortal who frequents the oceans of the deep West. If anyone were to have received an Exaltation, it would have been him. However, he was never so lucky to have been chosen, and his parents were teenage sweethearts who gave him up at a young age, so no chance of a Terrestrial bloodline. This didn't stop him from stepping onto a boat at the age of 12 and coasting off to all the corners of the Western direction. If there's a place in the West in the book, then Sloppy Joe has been there, and likely several places not revealed in canon.

Sloppy Joe has a rather high appearance for a mortal, and for some reason never seems to age past his late twenties. Which is strange considering he is over 100 years old. Joe's sailing had taken him to many places, which included the Western Wyld of the ocean. Inside the Wyld he came upon a Raksha Noble who had a penchant for Life-Size Naval Battle Games. The Raksha made a bet with Joe: He survive one of the Raksha's games, and he would grant Joe the lifetime of an Anathema. Joe agreed, and after over a week of hijacking fantasy ships, ducking from sea monsters, and drinking rum, the game finally ended and Joe came out on top. And following the deal, the Raksha granted Joe a nearly limitless lifespan so long as he was not killed.

However, being a Raksha, every gift comes with a twist. Sloppy Joe was given the gift of near Immortality, but at the expense of his head. Or his heads, as it should be. Sloppy Joe's head would be fine most of the time, but the last few days every two weeks, it would start to smell like rotting meat. Flies would be attracted to him and his words will slur. Then, when sufficiently rotted, his head will fall off like a rotten baby tooth. Then a new head will grow from the neck within the next few minutes, fresh and good as new. This of course led to his name of Sloppy Joe, and becomes quite an annoyance. His ship is covered with skulls all over the deck and inside, as he would leave his heads where they fell to rot away.

Plot Hooks:

-Sloppy Joe has been given a second chance to play against the Raksha from the west. This time if he wins, he gets to keep his long lifespan, but no longer has his head popping off every two weeks. But to do so, he's going to need more than just his own wits. He's still only a mortal, after all.

-Is useful for traveling in the West, since he has slight contacts in towns of the coasts and knows how to travel to nearly all places in the west.
