From Exaltedcursejar

A tribe located in the South, neared to a bordermarch than most of its inhabitants would like. Although situated on a sizable iron deposit, there is very little iron in circulation. The nation itself lacks sufficent materials to get the iron out of the ore. The Fair folk of the area often will ride out, raiding any caravans they see.

In this way, they keep the contest interesting.

The queen is said to have ruled for a thousand years, or some other long measure of time. As the major focus of the nation's cult, the woman also holds near absolute control of the nation, even when she cedes control to the king of the day.

The king is an intersting figure, as any one that managed to live out the week would probably gain a great degree of worship and temporeal power, almost certainly at the cost of the queen's own cult and power. The major cause of the death of the king is the regalia that he is expected, almost required, to wear. The clothes are benign, thaumaturgically enchanted and dyed vibrant colors, but otherwise normal. The grand daiklave, though, was never ment to be used by mortal hands. Any mortal can attune to it, but will quickly die from the ordeal, even if he could normally attune to artifacts. Only Exalts are immune to the daiklave's side effect.

Plot ideas 1. The group hears a rumor about a horrible cult of human sacrifice in an isolated kingdom to the South. If investiagted, the group should find that the sacrifices are part of a ritual that causes the blood of the sacrificed to gain great power. If used to annoint something, then for a day it resists the Wyld like pure ion.

2. The Lunar/Solar Mate of one of the group Exalted before becoming King (yes, even if female, she's still King). Based on memories of the first age,and a strange feeling of certaintly in his/her action, the Exalt will seek out and offer the other half of the throne to the PC. Even if they don't want the throne, the Exalt will try to at least get them there, if only to make offical pledges of friendship and alliance. The current queen isn't going to like things either way, and being a spirit of some power and cult, will certainly try to keep things as they were before the upstart exalted.

3. A half starved, almost dead man stumbles into a place where the PCs can hear him. He babbles about a place plagued by human sacrifice, ruled by a malignant spirit. If the PCs stay around long enough, say long enough to see the crowning and death of two kings, they might figure out that the man was quite accurate in some parts of his delirious speach.
