[edit] Infernal Magical Material Hack

[edit] Cecelyne

The grains of silver sand that make up the Endless Desert are more numerous than the stars of all the worlds combined. Priests of Cecelyne will sometimes create weapons from the body of their most honored patron, bringing the weight of her decrees down upon the impious and the lawbreaker. The glass that comes from this process is known as Lynean or Hepian Glass is only allowed to be made by a priest of Cecelyne, although it can be wielded by others who have earned the right to do so.

The unerring statutes of Cecelyne's law are imparted to items made of her sands: weapons rarely miss their targets (add +2 to Accuracy and +1 to Defense) and armor stands firm against those who work against the natural law of the world (attacks with the Piercing tag do not half the armor's soak).

[edit] SWLIHN

The distinguishing feature of She Who Lives In Her Name are the crystal orbs that make up her current form, filled with the fires of her very being. Within this fire is a very powerful name, one which bends the will of those who hear it to service of the Principle of Hierarchy. If the proper requests are placed, a servant of the Yozi can procure some of this fire to forge a weapon bound to the Yozi's desire to end the tyranny of free will. When an attack is made with a Namescorched weapon, the wielder can choose whether to deal physical damage or subtract the total successes from the target's MDDV. If the target's MDDV is reduced to 0, they gain a second Motivation (Serve She Who Lives In Her Name) for a lunar month.

[edit] Adorjan

The winds of Adorjan reduce all who face them to dust. Some brave crafters will collect the scraps of the Silent Wind's victims and work them into items of power. Having absorbed a bit of the power of the Yozi within them, items made of Adorjan's victims can channel that uncaring carnage with devastating effect. The spiraling winds that rush around a Windspawned weapon cause its strikes to be hard to pin down, reducing the DV of the target by 2. Windspawned armor adds +3B/2L, plus an additional +4B/+4L against the winds of Adjoran and her daughtres (as well as any effects that mimic such).

[edit] Ebon Dragon

When the Ebon Dragon passes over the skies of Malfeas, his form blocks out Ligier's light, sending the city into instant night. The creatures that have been touched by Erembour's song then come out to dance, enjoying their brief respite from the hurtful rays of the Green Sun. At times, bits of shadow fall from the Dragon as he flies over, pooling in the streets. If properly treated before Ligier reveals himself once more, this shadow can be collected and used in the manufacture of artifacts. This Shadowweave is rarely used in weapons due to its overly fluid nature; however, it can be made into a fabric that provides some protection from the light. Shadowweave armor is commonly found in the form of a hooded buff jacket which provides the bonuses for such but with a fatigue penalty of 0; in addition, the armor completely protects the wearer from the light of the sun, allowing passage into the lit world. However, this armor provides no protection against Holy attacks.

[edit] Kimbery

The material known as Flamesalt (or Zukta in the Lintha tongue) is the scourge of many who have faced the demon pirates. The acidic salts left behind when Kimbery's waters recede mingle with the ores found beneath her caustic waters and are forged by flameless heat, resulting in a metal that burns through anything... except the flesh of her beloved Lintha. Only wrappings made from the skin of a Lintha (or merely being one to begin with) can keep them from feeling the burn of Kimbery's wrath. Since the Lintha know the secret of working it, it's by far the most common infernal material in Creation.

As a weapon, Flamesalt deals an additional +3L as the edge burns its way through the target's flesh. As armor, the metal adds +2B/+2L, and also dulls any non-magical weapon that touches it, reducing the damage of the weapon by 2 until the acrid residue can be cleaned off.

[edit] Isidoros

Those who consider themselves brave enough will sometimes watch for the passage of Isidoros and, when the gargantuan Yozi passes by, climb onto the beast and procure some of the bristles that cover his massive form. Assuming that the gatherer is not crushed by the Black Boar out of anger, he can grind the stiff bristle and other ingredients into a powder that is known as Boar's Strength. When taken as a drug, it gives the user a great boost in physical prowess (see Wind-Fire Potion, pg 132 of Oadenol's Codex). However, the powder can also be added during the creation of an artifact to add the weight of the Boar's terrible might.

Weapons constructed from the flesh of Isidoros share his propensity for carnage and mass destruction, adding an additional 4 dice of damage. However, such damage is only ever bashing. No weapon made of Isidoros' flesh can cut; even a sword that seems razor sharp will smash through limbs rather than cut them off. In addition, any such weapon is so weighty that they require an additional dot of strength beyond the default to wield. Armor enhanced with Boar's Strength can stand up to even the mightiest of blows, reducing the post soak damage of the attack by three.

[edit] Szoreny

A particular grove of trees in Szoreny's forest-self is well-known among the artificers of Malfeas. This grove is the location of a particular wood that is known as Mirrorshine, which is coveted by those who prefer their weapons to be graceful rather than brutal. The wood must be carefully taken from the grove after receiving Szoreny's blessings, and can only be worked in a workshop that exists in the reflection of Kagami. Non-weapon artifacts made from this metal are common, normally dealing with twisting reflections or allowing passage into Kagami's realm. Weapons increase their defense by 3 as they mirror the moves of the wielder's enemies, while armor increases the DV of the wearer by 2 thanks to the strange reflections that distract the attacker.

[edit] Hegra

Those who walk in the rains of Hegra sometimes see glimpses of weapons seemingly made from the storm itself. Inspired, they gather the materials needed during the downpour, allowing the dreams within the water to soak into them. When next they dream, the artisan finds themselves in a well-stocked workshop, powered by the lightning that constantly strikes outside. Once completed, the artisan finds themselves sitting up in bed, their creation in hand.

Dreamlightning weapons strike in strange ways, and merely parrying or dodging them is truly insufficient. Opponents of those wielding a Dreamlightning weapon find their Physical DVs capped by their Mental DVs before charm use. Once a charm is invoked for defense, the opponent may use their uncapped DV for their base defense value. Dreamlightning armors draw from the fluid nature of dreams, adding half of their wearer's MDDV (round up) to their DDV.

[edit] Oramus

The material known as the Worldscale is a scale that has been shed by Oramus' thrashing as he beats against his own wings, trying to escape his prison-self. As befitting for the eldest Primordial, his scales have power over the Wyld that He emerged from. Those who wield items made from worldscale are considered to be one grade lower on the mutation chart when checking for mutation (e.g. Middlemarches are treated as Bordermarches). Worldscale also has power over the inherent Wyldness of moonsilver; add +2 Defense and +1 Accuracy to a worldscale weapon when parrying a moonsilver weapon or striking someone wearing moonsilver armor.

[edit] Cytherea

The Mother of All wishes dearly to hold her creation in her arms once more, and the material known as Lifevine allows her to do just that. Similar to the vegetative technology used by the Dragon Kings - in fact, some say it was She who taught the saurians how to use this material - lifevine can take the shape of any sort of wood-based material. Weapons made from lifevine crave to cover themselves with the essence of their targets, causing them to bleed profusely from wounds caused by the weapon. Armor made from the firmly woven material embraces the wearer in Cytherea's love, protecting her from harm; the armor's fatigue penalty is reduced to zero and gains +2B/+2L.
