App is the main character in the Evil Toaster series. In the first four games his real name is unknown to himself, and everybody else. However, the Evil Toaster evidently knows his name. He never found his true name so he made up one for himself. This name is only used in Evil Toaster 5.

In Evil Toaster (game) App had no personality besides being established as the Evil Toaster's enemy. In this game, App is the playable character. Notably, this is the only game where it is not a platformer.

It is said that App holds the Seed of Peace. If he can get it, the war between apples and toasters will end. He can get it 2 ways: Slice himself open (not a option, but it would work), or learn his name. Roaster wants to kill App since he believes App holds the Seed of Peace, which he wants to destroy. Roaster learns that the Evil Toaster has App's name in his programing(but the Evil Toaster doesn't actually know it himself), so Roaster tries to find the Evil Toaster as well as set up Portable Arenas to kill App.
