Military of Haarden

The Rojel Vapnade Styrkor or Royal Armed Forces of the Kingdom of Haarden is responsible for the defense of Haarden and her interests abroad. The longtime task of the RAF is to prepare and train for the event of war and to be ready to actively mobilize in the event of such. The Armed Forces are organized into a defensive structure of quick reaction, highly mobile units but with the capability to take on offensive roles. As a government department it reports to the Ministry of Defense. The Monarch of Haarden is the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces but the day to day operations are handled by the High Command.

In the past the Haardic Military was staffed through the use of conscription but has been a voluntary service since (YEAR). The normal length of service is 4 years active duty with ten years reserve. One may serve a 2 years active duty term but will remain on reserve lists for twelve years. Women have been allowed to join in support roles since (YEAR) but as of yet are not allowed in combat positions.
