What follows is a description of the major organizations of Éran, meaning groups independent groups active throughout entire regions, in some cases all of Éran.
l. Learning institutions
12 major universities in Éran, 3 in Brennèl, 2 in Errion, 1 in Irros, 1 in the Campi Region, 1 in the north/ steel lands, 1 in Âmre, 1 in the storm horns, 1 in alwar, 1 in the Solman heartlands. 5-6 magical universities.

The Steel Fist
A semi-secret organisation dedicated to ensuring military rule of Éran, The Steel Fist is founded upon the belief that the only ones fit to rule nations are those capable of protecting it. It is conservative and authoritarian in its outlook.
It has many adherents in the armies of most major nations in the west. Common knowledge, though it is not something spoken of openly, due to the Steel Fist's stated intention of securing military rule in all of Éran, which is mostly contrary to the current rule of most nations. The Steel Fist is a tolerated presence by most though, as they are rarely a revolutionary group and work mostly from within to try and advance the power of the military. One of the main qualities of a good soldier is loyalty, and few members of the Steel Fist are inclined to openly break an oath of loyalty they may have sworn to their rulers. It is this policy and subsequent tolerance of this essentially rebellious organisation that has allowed the Steel Fist to grow into the strong force it is in the west today.
The Steel Fist is vehemently opposed to all use of magic and work actively to outlaw it wherever possible.
The Steel Fist is headed by the Barbed Hand, a circle of five secret members who dictate the overall policy and major schemes of the Fist.
