Read OUR OPINION: Smart growth vs. sprawl.

OK

a) What are the issues and problems? Valdosta-Lowndes County residents are determining how their community will develop population wise. Residents are in the middle of deciding how their community will grow. The residents have to plan effectively in order to prevent any population sprawl within their community. Valdosta-Lowndes County consists of a state university, an Air Force, and a theme park. The state university, an Air Force, and a theme park can contribute to the Valdosta-Lowndes County area to grow rapidly. Therefore this community needs to plan accordingly to prevent a vast majority of people coming to the area without having the resources to support everyone.

b) If this where happening in your community, could you think of any positive or constructive resolutions? If this was happening in my community the only positive or constructive resolution I can think of is making sure their is a transportation system in place that will accompany the community. Also their must be aa law or rule enforced within the community to enforce recycling, so wastes can be properly discarded.

Read Scientists Hail San Francisco's Significant Natural Resource Areas Management Plan.

OK

c) What are the positives of the plan? The positive of the plan is that it aims to protect San Francisco's numerous imperiled species and ecosystem. The plan also aims to preserve, restore, and enhance a small portion of San Francisco's remaining indigenous habitat and species. The plan doesn't want any plants or animals being pushed to extinction.

OK

d) What are the problems with the plan? The problem with the plan is that the Natural Areas Program cannot protect urban nature without accommodating all forms of recreation enjoyed by the public without restriction. If the area is exposed to humans, there is a chance the area will not be perserved.

OK

e) Do you think this is a possible solution? Why or why not? The only solution I can think of for the problem is to restrict human access. If humans are allowed to this area it will not be respected and it will be destroyed. The environment will be changed to cater to the human population needs.
