"Hurricaines vs. Homes" Article

a)This article argues that even though history has proved that hurricaine-prone coastal regions are a bad place to build homes, it seems that we, as a society, have learned few lessons from mother nature. Homes are continually being built in these areas and are costing billions of dollars to fix the damage from these hurricaines.

Most Americans are very stubborn and refuse to be victim to these storms. They simply refuse to be shown up. Because of this attitude, these areas contain a substantial amount of the country's investments and population.

"China Makes Stable Energy Supplies Top Priority for Economic Planning" Article

b) Energy resources are a very important part of sustaining China's booming economy. Because China gets most of its energy from burning coal, they plan to trap the emitted carbon dioxide and store it underground to prevent a global warming threat.

China also plans to allow governmental control of all companies that are "strategically vital" such as energy plants. They also plan to increase the amount of security over these energy sources.
