"Hurricaines vs. Homes" Article

OK

a)This article argues that even though history has proved that hurricaine-prone coastal regions are a bad place to build homes, it seems that we, as a society, have learned few lessons from mother nature. Hurricaines are a major part of the environment in these regions. However, homes are continually being built in these areas and are costing billions of dollars to fix the damage from these hurricaines.

Most Americans are very stubborn and refuse to be victim to these storms. They simply refuse to be shown up. Because of this attitude, these areas contain a substantial amount of the country's investments and population. The authors of this article think that we should consider the reality of the fact that hurricaines will strike in these areas again. What is the use of wasting billions of dollars to fix the damage that will just be blown away with the next hurricaine?

"China Makes Stable Energy Supplies Top Priority for Economic Planning" Article

OK

b) Energy resources are a very important part of sustaining China's booming economy. Because China gets most of its energy from burning coal, they plan to trap the emitted carbon dioxide and store it underground to prevent a global warming threat. This will definately decrease the negative effect on the environment. China is in desperate need of energy sources because of the rate at which they blow through the ones that they have.

China also plans to allow governmental control of all companies that are "strategically vital" such as energy plants. They also plan to increase the amount of security over these energy sources. China is in need of energy to help support its population. The more security over the energy sources, the more likely that none will be disrupted or lost.
