Andrea Elizabeth Majewski Erskine's life started on February 5, 1975 at a hospital in Rochester, New York. There to greet her into the world were her two incredible parents John Joseph Majewski and Kathleen Marie Elia Majewski and her fabulous big sister Jennifer Kathleen. She had a wonderful childhood at 122 West Hickory Street in East Rochester, New York. Andrea lived in a small community where everything to do was within walking distance. Life couldn't get much better than that!
Andrea's favorite memories are of summers at the Majewski household. She remembers spending endless hours playing out in the backyard with Jen, Jason, and the neighborhood kids. They had one of the most popular yards on the street in the summer. Her favorite activities were swimming at their community pool, hanging out in the yard, and trying to get in on the older girls' fun. (She loved hanging out with her sister's girlfriends, however, she has a feeling they didn't feel the same way.)
In grade school, Andrea found that her classes were made up of mostly boys. This is when she discovered her love for sports. Her motto was "if you can't beat 'em, well, then join 'em." Andrea had a great time with sports in school. Her favorite sports were baseball, gymnastics, field hockey, and cheerleading. Living in a small community gave her great friends, wonderful opportunities, and tons of memories. At the end of her high school experience, Andrea realized that music was going to play a major role in her life. She decided to make this her career, which leads into the next chapter of her life--COLLEGE! (She thought the other years were outstanding, little did she know what Potsdam would have to offer!)
College was, by far, one of the best chapters in her life. This is where she learned first hand how to live life to the fullest. Andrea met some of her closest friends at college and learned how to live in harmony with ten other girls. WOW! That was an accomplishment all in itself. Being a music major was tough for Andrea. There were a few times when Andrea felt like she wanted to throw in the towel. She is sure that her Mom and Dad can remember some "crying" phone calls. However, she was determined to be a music teacher and follow in her parent's footsteps. It all paid off because Andrea graduated from The Crane School of Music with honors, and she is now a music teacher in Bloomfield, New York.
Andrea keeps busy teaching, but also leaves time for hanging out with her two furry babies. Murphy is two and Daisy is one and they both keep her very active. She also sings with Nik Entertainment Co. and is active in the local theater community.
The best chapter of her life she saved for the end. This part of her story involves her hubby, Larry. The two met in college. Larry attended Canton College, while Andrea was at Potsdam. The two were set up on a blind date and the rest is history. They married on August 22, 1998 and reside in Rochester, New York.
Larry Erskine
Larry C. Erskine was born on December 8, 1972 in Herkimer, NY. Larry was brought into this world by his parents, Les and Janet Erskine (who, Larry adds, had there hands full with him!). Larry is the youngest of seven children. He has five older brothers and one older sister.
Larry spent his first three years of life in Herkimer and later moved to Oswego, NY, where he spent the rest of his young manhood. Larry is, and always has been, heavily active in sports of all kinds, from hockey to camping. He enjoys them all! At Oswego High School, Larry played football, hockey, and lacrosse. When time permitted, he also enjoyed outdoor sports such as mountain biking and camping.
Throughout his school years, Larry was an average student. He did not know what he wanted to do professionally until he made the decision to go to a two-year college to pursue studies in a technical field. As a child he had always enjoyed building things, and he wanted to continue doing that as a professional. While visiting different two-year schools, he discovered the major of HVAC Engineering (Heating, Ventilation and Air conditioning systems) and enrolled into SUNY College of Canton. Canton is located in Canton, NY and is just 10 minutes from Potsdam, NY (remember this). Larry started studying for his AAS in HVAC engineering in Fall 1992. While at Canton, Larry played Lacrosse and had a great time with new friends and old.
It was in Larry's second year of college that this biography takes a turn (for the best). Larry met Andrea E. Majewski during a blind date in the winter of 1993. Andrea attended Potsdam College (just 10 minutes from Canton, remember?). While dating, Andrea and Larry led a fast-paced life. Marriage hasn't slowed them down a bit! Together, they still continue that fast pace.
Larry graduated from Canton in 1994 and continued his education at RIT (Rochester Institute of Technology) where he obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1998. He currently works as a Mechanical Engineer at Bergmann Associates in Rochester, NY. Larry has worked there for three years and really enjoys engineering (building things), especially industrial HVAC systems. Larry still enjoys his sports but spends most of his time camping and hiking with his wife and their two dogs, Murphy and Daisy. He also spends a lot of time working on his project jeep! He loves his wife and loves his life, and is still having fun playing in the sun!
