Twinkle Islands

These islands are seen in both Ace Combat 2 and Ace Combat 04: Shattered Skies. Twinkle Islands is the only island chain in Erusean territory, near the Erusean west coast. It is surrounded by the Spring Sea, which covers the boundaries of the Usean and Osean Continent.
[edit] Usean Rebellion (Op. Gambit)
In 1998(*1), at the beginning of the campaign to combat the Usean Rebellion, the allied Usean Forces began to move equipment into forward deployed positions against the Usean Rebels. An allied Usean Aircraft Carrier was en route to the Twinkle Islands. As it came into visual range of the Twinkle Island Airbase and Naval Station, Usean rebel bombers and their escorts began to attack the facility. Scarface One, also going to the Twinkle Islands, engaged the strike group and destroyed the rebel forces. This was the opening battle of the Usean Rebellion.

September 26, 2005 the Mobius Squadron (ISAF Air Force, 118th Tactical Fighter Wing)was sent to the region to destroy Megalith, a fortress designed to destroy fragments of the 1994XF04 asteroid. The Mobius Squadron, lead by the top ISAF Ace 'Mobius One', just recently had a part in taking the Erusean capital city, Farbanti. While heading towards the base, the remnants of Aquila Squadron (Erusean Air Force, 156th Tactical Fighter Wing) formed up to counter Mobius. It led to an air battle between the best of their countries, in the end Aquila fell to the ISAF Forces. Mobius 1 was able to destroy the power generators to gain entry to the main port. He destroyed the cruise missile & disabled Megalith. Whether the cruise missile in the main ports or external launchers have never been confirmed as Nuclear, but are believed to be.
