Apito International Airport

From Electrosphere

Apito International Airport is first seen in Ace Combat 05: The Unsung War. The geography around Apito area is located on the edge of a large lake near Oured, Osea's capital city. Beyond the airport and city small rolling hills and a river runs from the lake. Apito International Airport, located in mid-Osea had grew into one of the largest Air Ports on the Planet. It had become an International Air Port, further opening up Osea to the world by taking in flights from different Air Line companies, such as Air Ixiom from the Usean Continent, along with Air Erusia. The Air Port had no history of any large problems or scares, but in 2003 a member of "A World With No Boundaries" was arrested there when he had passport problems.

[edit] Circum-Pacific War (Op. Long Harpoon)

In 2010 as Osean aircraft were launched to engage a second threat in Bana City, a second unit was sent to Apito City to engage a small unit of fighters. As the Osean fighters began to engage the incoming aircraft, the Air Port was suddenly attacked at night, by Yuktobanian Special Forces. The Yuktobanian Special Forces managed to sneak into the Airport within unmarked military transports, which were taken as Osean Air Force aircraft by the Apito Control Tower. The fighters promptly scrambled back towards the airport. Yuktobanian Tanks and Troops unloaded from unmarked, believed to be Osean Air Force Transports and began to open fire on the Flight Terminals, the Air Port Corridors and Air Liners on the ground. They effectively blocked the Runway, leaving many international flights to be stuck in the air, not only threatened by Yuktobanian Fighter aircraft, but also by extremely low on fuel. The Osean Fighter Squadron returned to Apito International Airport and the Yuktobanian Forces were destroyed. However, with the crisis in Bana City, Osea, a Gas attack was underway, making it hard for the Osean Military to respond rapidly.
