[edit] Appearance

Sanna looks like a boy. A pretty boy, if one is forgiving, but a boy nonetheless. She keep her hair short, chin length at longest, and wears male clothing pretty much all the time. Putting her in a dress would be one of the most awkward things ever. Her mannerisms are mostly male as well, and if it wasn't for the softness of her features, the vague sort of curves, and her voice, she might be able to pass for a guy for longer than she already does. She doesn't bother to act one way or the other, despite disliking when people react badly to being "lied" to.

[edit] History

Sanna was born as the second child and only daughter to a pair of Beastmaster parents, who were both involved in the pit fighting way of life. Life was largely peaceful, and most of her time not spent in the casual lessons of education with whoever was willing to do it that day were spent outdoors. Her dad took over much of that education, attempting to stuff as much information that could possibly save her life one day.

Life did not exactly fall into chaos and ruin when her parents died in a capture gone horribly bad. She did have her brother, after all, and a sprawled sort of family tree they could depend on for now. Sort of. So while it was sad, it wasn't the end of the world. They were shuffled from family member to family member until her brother was accomplished enough as a beastmaster himself that he was able to buy a small, shack-like house for the two of them. It worked well enough for Sanna, who still spent the majority of her time outside. Unlike the rest of her family, she decided to learn archery, taught to her by a random cousin, who also picked up the slack of her woodcraft lessons as well.

A bit after she turned sixteen, her cousin decided that she was probably good enough to pick up the easy, basic bounty hunting notices that show up. Her first ones were with him, and then he took a few for her to do alone. After that, she was on her own. The money she got from bounty hunting went to her brother, to make up for the fact she took his clothes instead of buying her own, and to get them on the way to getting better lodging that didn't leak in the rain.

Even when she had a choice of which jobs to take, the pickings were still slim. Most the good jobs were picked off the boards within minutes, and she hadn't learned the trick of figuring out how to do that yet. So the first time she picked up a job that required a large amount of travel, it was mostly out of desperation.

In her opinion, that was probably one of the best acts of desperation she had ever done. If someone asked (rarely), she could explain how the knowledge that was gained by traveling in forests not her own or finding out what other cities wanted in trade helped her bring money back to augment with her brother's money. Honestly, though, it was about freedom. When she was home, there were ties to her family. Weak ties, she knew, but they were there. When she was in a city where absolutely no one knew her, no one expected anything of her. It was a good feeling.

She still came home a lot, and knew she always would. Her brother was the only family she felt she had anymore, and her loyalty to him went deeper than it went for the other people in her family. Even if every time she came home, something big had changed in his life for the better or worse, and she figured it'd be impossible to keep track of what he was up to if she was there every day. One day, she knew she'd come back to him married with a kid on the way and absolutely no warning.

[edit] Personality

Keywords: Independent, stubborn, repressed, straightforward

Sanna is highly indepedent, even from people she loves dearly. Being tied down to one place without any avenue of escape would send her into either a depression or a rage. Forests are where she's most comfortable, because she can understand the disorder of a forest. She's not afraid of cities, even big ones, but they unsettle her because all she can see are people, and those can't be put into the same mindframe that she puts trees and monsters in.

She tries to keep her emotions under control, and usually succeeds. It helps she's mostly apathetic about things people tell her, and so she doesn't care. If nothing else, it makes her a great ranting board or person to go to for advice, because she doesn't have any to give back and lets the person work through their issues on their own. What will piss her off, however, if someone doesn't take her seriously or they fuck with what she considers hers.

Sanna does have a high degree of arrogance, though she'd deny it to the death. She's very sure of her woodcraft skills and bow ability, preferring to depend on both of those over anyone else. She lacks patience to deal with people who are either clingy or dependent, which is very widely defined in either degree or on what.
