[edit] Appearance

Briget is of the light-skinned Viera with short, wavy hair dyed light brown and eyes of a darker, redder shade. Her ears are decorated with a few piercings, but for the most part she comes off more as "cute" rather than "pretty." Her bust is slightly smaller than normal fare, though in general she is on the smaller side. She is often seen in warm or neutral colors, her gun strapped to her thigh, within reach. She wears a simple rope necklace with a ring on it, something she picked up off the streets.

With a lop-sided smile and a hint of mischief in her eyes, Briget looks playful - an asset that is well received in the tavern. Despite the initial reaction of "A Viera D:", most people find her easily approachable because of her friendly demeanor.

[edit] History

Raised as a typical Viera in the Wood, Briget had only fleeting thoughts of what the world was like outside of it. It wasn't until her elder sister left for that world that Briget's curiosity about it began to expand. What had caused her sister, among other Viera, to abandon the peaceful village and the Wood, to willing cut off their communication with it? Certainly the Wood didn't make the Humes sound that alluring... To abandon her own sister? It took a few decades, but the young Viera also decided to see what was so great about them - those plentiful Humes.

Despite there being nothing but vast plain before her, Briget treked on, living off of the land with her bow and arrows. Eventually, she found herself in Jahara and there found a peaceful people who were willing to take her in, as long as she pulled her own weight. Briget did so with little complaint; though not accustomed to this type of labor, it was an experience with new people and culture and land... She stayed there for a while, learning more in depth about the geographical layout of Ivalice than what she heard from the Wood. When it was time to part ways, she thanked the hospitible garif and hitched a ride with a merchant to the Royal City of Rabanastre.

Well damn, was it a busy place. It was such a stark contrast to the her village and even the garif's village that Briget had no fondness for it at all. She quickly found herself in Druze and though still busy compared to life in the Wood, it wasn't nearly as hectic as Rabanastre. Again, she had to quickly find a way to make ends meet and did so through a variety of odd-end jobs and playing the ocarina or singing. As the sight of a Viera was not common, it was a decent income.

On one of her performances, an elderly woman approached her. She observed that Briget had an unusual, yet pleasing voice, and would she like to pursue a better occupation with it? For she was an Orator who was on in her years, and she thought that Briget had the talent to become one herself.

Both flattered and interested in the prospect of being able to twist a person's view on reality with simply words, Briget accepted the offer. She could not pay much for the lessons, but the woman was fine with what she received, so for the last six years the young Viera has studied under her, learning the magical side of persuasion and the use of guns. She's also moved onto a job with a small group of fellow Vieras in a tavern known as The Sapphire. Currently she is both a student and a waitress, saving a portion of her income for anything special that might happen later down the road.

[edit] Personality

Keywords: (man I suck at these) Curious, two-faced, secretive, fickle, friendly, magpie, odd, lukewarm, hypocrite?

At first glance, you might peg Bridget as one of those quiet, shy types that would rather observe than participate, and should you engage in conversation with her, this impression might be strengthened. But this is only half-true! Upon striking a consistant relationship with her, she's much more open with her amusement of almost anything, as she's rather easy to entertain, though difficult to impress, and is more prone to speaking, playing around, and generally not taking much seriously. The trick is striking up (and maintaining -- thus "consistant") that relationship, as keeping Bridget's attention to it is the hardest part of it all -- she is fine with merely being aquaintances. This is also kind of superficial, as she tends to keep most of her thoughts to herself.

She is also somewhat of a pack rat, rarely throwing things out because they could "serve a use for something else later." Bridget likes little doo-dads, possibly more than things that actually serve a purpose, and likes to keep them in strange arrangements on various surfaces. Half of the time, they are scenes; the tiny glass octopus fleeing from the oncoming trample of the wooden horse pulling its wooden carriage, with little candies inside -- another group of tiny glass animals centered around a musical box -- or just a stack of unscented candles and unmatching glasses to burn them in

It isn't initially easy to tell when Briget treds into the realm of anger, as her reactions are not very obvious. In one sense, it can be dangerous, as most times Briget won't tell you when you're doing something "wrong", so her anger could build without you even knowing it. It's a severe fault of hers to expect others to just know when to stop, and hold it against them when they don't. She's one to hold grudges while still acting like everything is more or less alright, making her somewhat of a two-faced person. Be careful of what you do or say to her; for all her "friendliness" and amiable behavior, Briget is not entirely trustworthy.

She also thinks of Humes as lower than Viera, though this she is not quite aware of. She harbors a grudge on her sister for leaving the Wood for them.
