This is a list of important, non-player characters in the world of DexNet. Gym Leaders are not included here and can instead be found on the list of gyms for their region.

  • Ice type specialist
  • Known for being logical, cool and calculating
  • Collects Pokémon dolls

Agatha

  • Ghost type specialist
  • Oldest member of the Elite Four to date
  • Has a very short temper
  • Used to be Professor Oak's friendly rival

Daelin Gabriel

  • Bruno? Who's that?

Lance

  • Dragon type specialist
  • Really likes capes. Often seeing buying identical capes at the Celadon Department Store
  • Has a large fan following due to his cool image
  • From Blackthorn City in Johto

Heissenrech Family

  • Filthy rich
  • Name is closely associated with Lavender Town
  • The main family has two children, elder son and younger daughter, both of whom have left home to be Pokémon Trainers


Jenny Family

  • Owns the police force
  • Female family members look eerily similar: blue hair and brown eyes. Can be difficult to tell apart
  • Most Jenny women go into the police force
    • Jenny men? They exist? Sort of outcast or ignored
  • Not all members of the police force are Jenny relatives, but because many are, officers are commonly referred to as Jennies or Officer Jennies, whether they're a Jenny relative or not
  • Officers are paired with a Growlithe while on duty and patrol on motorcycles/hoverbikes
    • Can have their own personal Pokémon, but growlithes are policy


Joy Family

  • Owns the PokéCenters
  • Female family members look eerily similar: pink hair and blue eyes. Can be difficult to tell apart
  • There is at least one at every PokéCenter, leading operations
  • Joy men? What? Outcast or ignored, like Jenny men.
  • Not all PokéCenter workers are Joy family, but because so many are, nurses are commonly referred to as Joys or Nurse Joys regardless
  • Generally work with Chansey or Blissey assistants in the Centers
    • Can own personal Pokémon as well
    • Chansey are not necessarily policy, just very common. Not all Centers will have a Chansey assistant


Mister Fuji

  • Very famous Pokémon rights activist (currently retired)
  • Living in Lavender Town
  • Used to be a scientist who helped establish the research labs on Cinnabar Island

Gary Oak

  • Indigo League Champion
  • Professor Oak's grandson
  • From Pallet Town
  • Kind of a jerk!

Steven Stone

  • Hoenn League Champion
  • The son of the president of Devon Corp.
  • Has a fascination with rare stones.
  • Lives in Mossdeep City.
  • A steel-type master.
  • He's actually a nice dude!

Cynthia Camilla

  • Sinnoh League Champion
  • Comes from the Camilla family, well-known in historical and mythological circles. Has a great interest in mythology and legends herself.
  • From Celestic Town.
  • A master of various types of Pokémon; very talented!
  • For all her dark appearance, she's actually quite nice.


Professor Samuel Oak

  • Famous Pokémon researcher
  • Lives in Pallet Town
  • Used to teach at Celadon University
  • Invented the PokéDex
  • His grandson is the Indigo League Champion


Warden Slowpoke

  • Runs the Safari Zone in Fuschia City
  • Also runs the zoo in Fuschia City
  • Has false teeth
  • Friends with Koga
  • Nicknamed Slowpoke because of his vacant stare


William Bill

  • Commonly called Bill
    • Also, Bill the PokéManiac
  • Lives northeast of Cerulean City, near the lighthouse
  • Invented the current PokéBall system and Pokémon digital storage system


Elite Four (Hoenn)

Sidney

  • He's a dark-type specialist!
  • Has a creepy kinda hairstyle.
  • Upbeat in personality. He likes to go on an all-out offensive in battle.

Phoebe

  • She's a ghost-type specialist!
  • Related to the old couple on Mt Pyre.
  • Kinda looks like she's ready for a luau.
  • Tries to confuse and confound her opponents!

Glacia

  • An ice queen. Well, she's an ice-type specialist.
  • She's a prim and proper lady!
  • Speculated to be from Sinnoh, did her training there, at least.

Drake

  • The dude's a pirate. No, really. Look at him. Pirate.
  • Specializes in dragon-types.
  • Apparently was saved by dragons at some point in his lifetime.


Professor Birch

  • A researcher in the Hoenn Region. He lives in Littleroot Town, and is one of the about four people who do.
  • Studies Pokémon habitats, mostly.
  • He collects info on the Hoenn Regional PokéDex.


Mr. Briney

  • A sailor living in the Hoenn Region - he's south of Petalburg somewheres.
  • He takes travellers on his boat to Dewford and Slateport way before they're able to Surf. Yay!
  • A nice old dude. He has a Wingull named Peeko.


Mr. Stone

  • The president of Devon Corp. Steven Stone's his son.
  • Developer of the PokéNav.
  • Collects rare stones.
  • Concerned about the wellbeing of Pokémon - halted construction on the Rusturf Tunnel 'cause it was bothering a bunch of Whismur.


Lanette and Bridgette

  • Geeky sisters! They're computer technicians.
  • Lanette upgraded Bill's storage programs, giving them a better UI.
  • Bridgette also upgraded the storage system to allow it to hold 1500 Pokémon per trainer. Yikes!
  • Both worked on apps to allow Kanto trainers to trade Pokémon with Hoenn trainers.


Gabby and Ty

  • TV reporters for Hoenn TV.
  • They do interviews of famous trainers, report on Pokémon Contests, cover important battles... Really, they're roving-type folk, always looking for the next scoop.
  • Gabby does the interviews, while Ty takes care of the camera.


Mr and Mrs Ezo

  • The old couple living on Mt Pyre.
  • Take care of the monuments to deceased Pokémon, and comfort the grieving trainers.
  • Holders of the mysterious Red and Blue Orbs.
  • Very knowledgeable about Hoenn legends.


Winstrate Family

  • A family of six who are all strong Pokémon battlers. There's grandma Vicky, father Victor, mother Victoria, son Vito, and daughter Vivi.
  • Challenge any trainer they meet to a consecutive series of battles.
  • Will still help out people who get stuck in the Hoenn desert north of where they live!


Captain Stern

  • Big name dude in Slateport. He's responsible for a bunch of the town's livelihood.
  • Built the museum in Slateport, and runs Stern's Shipyard. Constructing the S.S. Tidal.
  • He likes to explore the ocean floor in his yellow submarine. Probably knows more than anyone about Hoenn's oceans.


Professor Elm

  • Famous Pokémon researcher
  • Lives in New Bark Town.
  • Has worked with Professor Oak on research before


Professor Rowan

  • Another Pokémon researcher!
  • Specializes in evolution-related studies.
  • Lives in Sandgem Town.
  • Was the mentor of Professor Oak way back in the day.


Bebe

  • The administrator of Sinnoh's Pokémon storage system.
  • Developed a new system, although it's based on the work of Bill and Lanette.


The Camilla Family

  • Long-time historians. Very knowledgeable about the Sinnoh region and its mythology.
  • The elders may be connected to the First Church of Arceus somehow...
  • The youngest daughter is Cynthia, the current Sinnoh League champion.
  • Lived in Celestic Town for generations.

Aaron

  • A bug-type specialist.
  • Rather perky and energetic.

Bertha

  • A ground-type specialist.
  • A kind, older lady - should not be disregarded, though!
  • Might be related to Agatha of the Kanto E4.

Flint

  • A fire-type specialist.
  • Afros went out in the seventies, dude.
  • Friends with the gym leader of Sunyshore City.

Lucian

  • A psychic-type specialist.
  • Enjoys reading, especially books regarding psychic powers and ESP - may have glimmerings of those powers himself.
