The kitsune Ichiro is the great grandfather of Masi Masakashi. Breeding with a mortal girl long ago, he placed himself in the willow Onusa held by the family to wait the time when one of his lineage would become a demi-god with the ability to manipulate reality. Stirred by Masi's touch after his grandson's awakening, the spirit has taken on tutoring his great grandson in his powers, though his motives have yet to be revealed.

After an altercation with Dewei and Vivian upon first awakening, he's become smitten by her.
