[edit] Information on Player

Geordie's health scare shortly before he played his game was reported in the Scottish Sun

Gerry Reynold's who played under the name "Geordie" is indeed a native of those parts of North-East England, but currently lives near Inverness in the Highlands of Scotland. He is heavily involved in the organisation of the annual Inverness Highland Games sporting event.

Only hours before his game was due to be played, Geordie suffered a suspected heart attack and was rushed to the Bristol Royal Infirmary. Upon being given the all-clear he returned to the studios to play his game, but ended up winning £20, a sum which he donated to charity. He sold his story to the Scottish Sun newspaper, a move which did not go down well with Endomol executives or his fellow contestants, although this money too was donated to a local Inverness hospice. Geordie remains the "black sheep" of former DonD contestants and does not attend reunions. He is banned from a number of Deal or No Deal forums and websites, and claims that his short TV career is now well behind him. He was once a contestant on BBCs "The Weakest Link".

His deal at £20 remains the lowest ever amount taken by a contestant (as opposed to going all the way and just opening their box) and it proved to be a smart move when he revealed just 10p in his box. He promises to buy any future contestant a beer (or glass of wine for females) if they are offered a lower deal than £20 and take it. So far a few contestants have had such a scenario, but no-one has obliged.
