Nerull is the only child of Olidamarra and Cuthbert and the student of Wee Jas. Working amongst the souls that Wee Jas loved, Nerull observed how many of them mourned the loss of their time on earth. When he pressed Wee Jas about this, she would only say that it was the plight of all mortals to mourn thus, and that, in time, they would accept their death and move on. Nerull, however, could not accept this. He conspired with one of Wee Jas’s cultists, a man named Vecna, to steal the secret of undeath for him, so that he could grant mortals the ability to live forever. When Obad-Hai discovered this, he stripped Nerull of his age, trapping him in the form of a small child, and charged him with ensuring the end of all things- for trying to live forever, Nerull was to watch all things die, save himself. His actions in giving undeath to mortals earned him the enmity of Pelor, who saw the darkness-walking undead as the ultimate perversions of life itself
