The Balkanic Red Army of Peasants and Workers (frequently shortened to Balkanic Red Army or BRA) is the military force of the Balkanic Socialist Republic, encompassing an army, a navy, an air force, and a partisan unit. With an active force of 720,000 (including 400,000 conscripts), it is one of the largest militaries in Europe. Outfitted with the latest Soviet equipment - as well as many indigenous weapons of its own making - the Balkanic Red Army is renowned for its well-disciplined, well-trained soldiers, who serve their motherland with genuine pride and commitment. Due to the number of hostile states contiguous to the BSR, the Balkanic Red Army is always on high alert, and the country actively conscripts Balkanics of both genders, so that the country can mount a maximum defensive effort in the event of an invasion. Structurally, the military is organized largely on Soviet lines. The supreme commander of the Balkanic Red Army is Field Marshal Nicolae Andrescu.
