The Holy Russian Revolution was a short but brutal civil war in what is now the Holy Russian Empire. It began on January 7th, 2007 (Orthodox Christmas), after Okhrana agents assassinated a priest in Moscow. What started as a protest escalated into a riot after police were brought in to quell the demonstration, and escalated into a rebellion after the riot police joined the demonstrators. When the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, Alexis II declared his support for the rebels, it soon became a revolution, and then into a civil war.
Although the war was multi-sided and included foreign forces from several countries, the main hostilities took place between Orthodox revolutionaries and forces loyal to the Kyrusian-backed Russian Empire. The revolution was declared over on May 27th, 2007 (Pentecost in the Orthodox Church) when the last Loyalist stronghold (Pskov) fell to Orthodox Revolutionaries.
