Throughout your childhood, your daemon's form is relatively superficial. It's just whatever is appropriate at the moment, whatever is fun. As you grow up, your daemon settles into one form that most closely represents your soul, which is the settled form. Usually, there may be a period where your daemon may stick with one form, but it still may not be settled.
Changelings
Some daemons will never seem to settle. This is not necessarily a lack of maturity or presence of a disorder, it is just a sign of an ever-changing personality.
