Croydon sightings for 2009

Please do not post details of scarce breeding birds (those included in Schedule 1 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, amended 2000). Any such reports will be removed. We would still like to know of such potential breeding records, so please e-mail them to us.

  • 5th - Markfield - Lesser Redpoll nibbling buds on Spindle bush (Ted Forsyth)
  • 4th - Biggin Wood (15:00 hrs) - Sparrowhawk, 2 pairs of Goldcrests, 2 pairs of GS Woodpeckers (1 drumming),Green Woodpecker, Great, Blue , Coal & Long Tailed Tits, c20 Ring Necked Parakeets, c60 Wood Pigeons (this is a favoured roostings site for this species and Carrion Crows).(Linda & Terry Osborn)
