  • 27th - Peregrine flying over in Croydon at 8am.

  • 25th - Park Hill Park: A party of 15 - 20 Magpies in the park today have been moving around together in the neighbourhood for maybe two months now. (John Parish)

  • 21st - Sanderstead: Poor views of a pale gull associating with Black-headeds. Never in view for more than a few seconds, but from size and colour, appeared to be Mediterranean Gull.

  • 20th - Selsdon Wood - 2 Tawny Owls at separate roosts. MossyHill Shaw - 60 Fieldfares, 1 Little Owl perched and in flight. Field at top of Baker Boy Lane - 2 Little Owls, 70 Fieldfare, 2 Redwing (Ted Forsyth)
  • 20th - Atlas visit to tetrad TQ36S (roughly bounded by Addington Village, Shirley Church, Millers Pond, Threehalfpenny Wood and Kent Gate Way). 1 Lapwing, 2 Sparrowhawks (female at Shirley Heath and male at Threehalfpenny Wood), 1 Pheasant, 6 Siskins, 2 Goldcrests, 18 Blackbirds (10 at Shirley heath otherwise scarce), 13 Redwings, 10 Song Thrush, 4 Mistle Thrush, 95 Blue Tits, 62 Great Tits, 8 Long-tailed Tits, 1 Coal Tit, 15 Great Spotted Woodpeckers (mainly drumming males), 1 Green Woodpecker, 10 Nuthatches, 115 Woodpigeons, 70+ Crows, 41 Magpies, 15 Jackdaws, 10 Jays, 48 Robins, but only 7 Wrens. Also 1 Kestrel in Kent Gate Way, but just outside the tetrad. (JB)

  • 13th - Addington Hills : a Firecrest in a mixed flock with Tits, Goldcrest and Nuthatch moving through the holly thicket at the edge of the oakwood opposite the Oaks Farm turning from Oaks Road.
