  • 5th - Hutchinsons Bank: 6+ Brimstone, 3+ Small Tortoiseshell, 1 Comma, 1 Peacock during workday (John Parish)
  • 5th - Sanderstead: at least one (probably two) male Bristone butterfly in Briton Hill Road garden (first of the year). (JB)

Having read recently in John Wyatt's classic "The Shining Levels" about the damage the stilletto-sharp antlers of a roebuck can inflict, I didn't linger when this little fellow, angry at being interrupted (who wouldn't be?!), spotted me standing 30m away and gave a few warning barks in my direction!
