You're just a regular employee, in an unimportant branch of an unremarkable company. You spend your days at a desk, getting only as much done as you have to, waiting for the day to end. And even then, you drive home simply to watch more time slip by. You have no real friends, no girlfriend, no hobbies, a dull life. And today, staring at your desk, you decide to end it. You are going to commit suicide.
You are starting to get up to leave, not caring what time it is, when a co-worker calls out to you to see the boss. You sigh, not enjoying the thought of talking to the man you've hated for years. But you want to see him anyway, and head for his office.
You go for a last revenge, a last goodbye, or just out of habitual obedience. Your not sure which, and you don't care.
